Ventec upgrades ISO 7 aerospace-standard prepreg & laminate clean-room facility in Germany

Ventec International Group Co., Ltd. is pleased to announce the completion of a new upgraded temperature & humidity-controlled ISO 7 (Class 10000) clean-room at its German facility. The upgrade forms part of Ventec’s ongoing investment in the establishment and maintenance of meticulous aerospace-standard cleanliness in the prepreg handling areas of the state-of-the-art quick-turn manufacturing & distribution centers in Germany and key locations around the world.

Driven by particular demand from high reliability, medical, military and aerospace applications in Europe, Ventec’s German distribution centre in Kirchheimbolanden now boasts an immaculately presented, upgraded clean-room for epoxy prepreg cutting and packing. Access is strictly reserved for trained operators in full clean-room outfits. Only airtight doors permit a view into the modern facilities and all specially colour-coded handling equipment within the clean-room will never leave the area to eliminate the risk of cross-contamination.

A certified ISO 7 (Class 10000) canopy has been installed, so that the Pasquato slitter/sheeter has a constant laminar down-flow of highly filtered air to give an ultra-clean operating environment with real-time monitoring of temperature and humidity.

Frank Lorentz, Production Manager at the Kirchheimbolanden facility, comments: ‘We continue to make every effort to ensure that the prepreg we deliver is completely free from foreign object debris in the form of particulate contamination. We are committed to maintaining those cleanliness standards all the way into the customer’s lay-up room and our fabrication equipment and environment here in Kirchheimbolanden have been specifically designed to aerospace standards.’ He continued: ‘Our continuous investment-program in Germany is expertly overseen by our mechanical engineer Mr. Matthias Rupp who, together with the entire team, has worked tirelessly to ensure that our delivery promise to our customers remains uninterrupted throughout the facility upgrade.”

Smart Systems Integration 2019 once again offers numerous highlights

The Smart Systems Integration, the international communication platform for innovative smart systems and their manufacturing techniques, will open its doors shortly; participants can look forward to a varied program from 10 – 11 April 2019 in Barcelona.

Conference: Latest developments in Europe

As an increasing amount of smart systems and components are entering the market in the age of digitisation, they are used as essential components of everyday life as well as in a real production environment, agriculture and medical technology. Smart systems, as presented at the event, do not only include sensors, actuators as well as electronic components, they are equipped with the functionality to communicate and to work in consorts, to make decisions based on the available data in a predictive or adaptive manner.

The 13th Smart Systems Integration Conference and Exhibition shows the actual status of these developments, especially in Europe. “We are focusing on the newest components, new technologies in manufacturing as well as system integration. Moreover, we will be showing the results of the cooperation in current EC projects as well as in the application fields of Industry 4.0 and health. We are set to present prospective topics like artificial intelligence, printing technologies as well as quantum computing in the keynote sessions”, notes Professor Thomas Otto, the chairman of the SSI. “For the first time we will be presenting the Thomas Gessner Award to a young scientist at SSI.”

Thomas Gessner gave essential impulses to the field of smart systems integration and was the chairman of the conference until he died in 2016. Smart Systems Hub focuses on the digital future Smart digital HUBs are growing all over Europe. They combine all the different regional activities in the field of digitization. A prominent example is the Digital Innovation Hub activities at an additional workshop at SSI2019 on Thursday 10 April 2019.

The HUB focusses on the comprehensive integration of hardware, software and connectivity (5G) as the foundation of our digital future. Key players and experts from industry and science will present their results, for example, from T-Systems Multimedia Solutions, SAP, Infineon Technologies and 5G Lab in Dresden. Topics include 5G connectivity to enable real-time IoT applications, Industry 4.0 – smart systems to enhance condition monitoring, robotic co-working scenarios, robotics integration into digital supply chain as well as IoT workflows.

Exhibition: Presentation platform for the industry

The Smart Systems Hub is not only represented with workshops, but also as one of two start-ups, together with the company Tre Tau Engineering s.r.l., at the exhibition accompanying the conference. More than 20 international exhibitors from industry and science are to use this platform to present their products and services, including well-known research institutions and renowned companies.

“By combining cutting-edge conference topics with innovative exhibitors, we are offering Smart Systems Integration participants a varied program with great opportunities for training and networking. Not only academic topics will be covered, but there will also be relevant lectures from industry and legislation. So there is really something for everyone involved in the integration of smart systems,” states Anthula Parashoudi, Vice President of the Smart Systems Integration event.

Time for networking – the supporting programme 2019

An extensive supporting program will accompany the event. During a pre-conference field trip to the HP Inc. R&D Centre, participants can learn more about innovations in 3D and 4D printing technologies. On the evening of the first day of the conference, the traditional Conference Dinner will take place in the “Palau Requesens”, a medieval Gothic palace in the old city of Barcelona. During this dinner, which offers space for networking and exchange, the Best Paper and Best Poster winners of the SSI 2018 will be awarded, as well as the Thomas Gessner Award of the Fraunhofer ENAS. Registration Conference registration is possible at The complete conference program and further information can be found at
