LAB Circuits Chose Nuvogo™ 800 Direct Imaging System to Better Serve Customers

13 January 2015

Orbotech announced today that earlier this year, LAB Circuits S.A., the Spanish PCB manufacturer specializing in Quick Turnaround (QTA), chose an Orbotech’s Nuvogo™ 800 Direct Imaging system.

This decision was part of the company’s broader business strategy aimed at keeping LAB Circuits competitive in the increasing-demanding European marketplace.  In order to maintain its reputation for quality and commitment to service, LAB Circuits sought out a solution for solder mask using maskless digital direct imaging.  After qualifying several suitable solutions, it found that the new Nuvogo 800 best matched its needs.

“We are always focused on the needs of our customers,” explained Mr. Albert Angel, General Manager, “therefore, flexibility on resist type while maintaining superior image quality was of great importance to us. Only Orbotech’s  Nuvogo 800 DI system’s MultiWave Laser Technology™, lets us use the widest possible range of resists while maintaining high registration accuracy and depth-of-focus. The results achieved on this system included excellent uniformity and quality even across uneven topography and varying thickness on some of our most demanding circuits, with high throughput. We are excited to be able to use this powerful new technology to the benefit of our customers.”

“We are pleased to continue to support LAB Circuits dedication to its customers by providing it with our best-in-class technology,” said Mr. Hadar Himmelman, President of Orbotech West. “We look forward to fostering a continued partnership with this esteemed client.”

About Nuvogo™ 800
Nuvogo 800 is a next-generation Direct Imaging (DI) solution capable of imaging on almost every resist type, affording maximum flexibility to PCB makers. Powered by MultiWave Laser Technology™, Nuvogo 800 generates a multi wavelength laser beam for optimal line structure. This provides PCB manufacturers the ability to choose lower-cost resist types in order to further reduce total operating costs.
This high-productivity machine is able to achieve up to 7,000 panels/day/line at unprecedented quality. Superior line quality and registration accuracy is achieved through Orbotech’s field-proven Large Scan Optics (LSO) Technology™. Suitable for the most advanced HDI production, Nuvogo 800 ensures a high depth-of-focus critical for maximizing yields in increasingly challenging production environments. The combination of super high-productivity, flexibility to use almost any resist and unmatched yields results in the lowest possible cost-per-print and significantly lowers the system’s total cost of ownership.
