  News in detail:

  1. Speedstack Si major enhancements for 2018, the Speedstack Si bundle of
Speedstack and Si9000e has (until now) only catered for lossless
information in the Speedstack part of the bundle. The 2018 release of
Speedstack Si includes many many enhancements to the Stackup capability
with customers being able to fully retain and document all the insertion
loss characteristics in both the stackup and the associated stackup
report documentation.  Here is a preview of what’s new for 2018
  Speedstack Si:

  2. What is insertion loss? – a simple introduction. For
readers completely new to the subject this application
note gives a layman’s guide to the subject of insertion loss
and why it is of increasing importance. With a simple explanation
  of modeling and measurement techniques.

  3. Practical Modeling of High-speed Channels Based on Data Sheet Input.
This recent presentation given by Bert Simonovich from Lamsim Enterprises
at EDI Con shows you how to characterise High Speed channels by using
data sheet information in conjunction with readily available
  modeling tools:

  4. Speedstack library now contains Elite Materials (EMC)
Update to Speedstack 17:08 to see the latest materials from
Elite in the Speedstack online library.

5. MGC Materials updated in Speedstack library
Mitsubishi Gas Chemical (MGC) base materials are revised
and updated as a result of customer requests in the
  Speedstack Online library.

  6. Reminder – Speedstack Si customers please update to
Speedstack 17:08 now to smooth your transition into Speedstack Si 2018.
Whilst we understand some customers prefer to update only every year or
two, the changes planned for the 2018 version of Speedstack mean that
your transition to Speedstack 2018 will be much smoother if you
are already on 17:08.  As Speedstack 2018 is slated for release within
the next few months it is a good time to move to 17:08 now.
